Goedker was born and raised in Brainerd. Goedker is a REALTOR® and the managing broker with Goedker Realty. Goedker was first licensed to sell real estate in Minnesota in 1989 and even worked prior to that in the industry, since both parents were licensed real estate brokers. Goedker then spent five years honorably serving our country in the United States Marine Corps. During his time in the service, he received Honor Graduate status in three of the four schools he was sent to and awards for superior performance, good conduct and motivation.

Goedker continued his career in real estate in Florida and eventually was licensed to sell real estate in Florida in 1996. While in Florida, Goedker started a real estate brokerage in Destin, Florida and earned his GRI (Graduate, REALTOR Institute) designation and LTG designation (Leadership Training Graduate) from the Emerald Coast Association of REALTORS®. He was also Secretary and President of the Niceville Exchange Club in Niceville, Florida, and the Sunday School Superintendent for a church with over 1,200 members.

In 2000, Goedker returned to Brainerd and was re-licensed in Minnesota as a Real Estate Broker, working with Gene Goedker. Goedker went on to earn his ABR designation (Accredited Buyer Representative) and e-PRO certification (Internet Certified REALTOR®). Goedker is the current President of the Greater Lakes Association of REALTORS®. Goedker has been on the Greater Lakes Association of REALTORS® Multiple Listing Service Board since 2002 and is currently the Past-President. Goedker also serves in the following real estate capacities; Minnesota Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors, Minnesota Association of REALTORS® Professional Standards Board, Minnesota Association of REALTORS® Ethics Instructor, appointed member of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resource’s Shoreland Ordinance Review Committee - to represent Minnesota REALTOR® interests and land owner rights and Greater Lakes Association of REALTORS® New Member Orientation Instructor. Goedker has consistently attended many National REALTOR® events in order to stay abreast of REALTOR® issues.

Goedker aids his real estate career by being involved in the community and politics. He is currently an elected member of the Brainerd City Council, as President (having served on the Personnel and Finance Committee, Safety and Public Works Committee and Parking Commission and currently on the Community Action Board and Airport Commission), Past-President of the Garfield School PTO, member of the ISD 181 Advisory Board, Past President and co-founder of the Northeast Brainerd Residents’ Association, Past Secretary - GEM Award Winner and Rookie of the Year of Brainerd Noon SERTOMA, Junior Achievement Volunteer and Past Commandant of the Heartland Detachment of the Marine Corps League.

Goedker meets with local, state and federal legislators on a minimum annual basis, which includes Eggs-N-Issues Brainerd Chamber events, MN REALTOR® Legislative Impact Day, and National Association of REALTORS® Mid-Year Meetings in Washington D.C. This year he will be at the State Capitol in March and in Washington D.C. in May 2010 to discuss issues with our elected officials.

As Chuck Norris stated in his recent book, Black Belt Patriotism, (Fidelis Books), ‘Clearly the government we have today is not the government outlined in the Constitution. It’s grown far beyond the limits the Constitution sets – and as a result we are facing dangers from which the Constitution’s Framers tried to protect us.”
